Over the past few years as a resident of Ward 11, I have noticed that most of the major issues within Ward 11 and the City of Hamilton have either been approved with little public input and/or deferred to later dates. There is a belief throughout the neighborhoods that most of our concerns and/or suggestions have fallen on deaf ears.

If elected I plan to change that feeling within our communities and would be proud to serve you as your next councillor. To accomplish this I want everyone to know that I will retire from my current job, and dedicate 100% of my time to this position. It is time that each and every resident, farmer and business owner, has the representation they deserve.

I ask all of you to vote and support me as your next councillor for Ward 11 on October 25/2010. I believe that Stoney Creek, Winona, Glanbrook, and all other areas of Ward 11 are great places to live and raise our children.

Together as a team we can work towards using the roots of our past, the knowledge of our present and the hope of the future to create a safer, stronger and more prosperous place to live.

On the Campaign Trail

Well...so far it has been quite a ride. My team and I have, to date, knocked on just shy of 5,000 doors. We have met many, many terrific people, had dozens of very interesting conversations and learned a huge amount about your concerns. I even had the opportunity to help solve a couple of local issues for individuals in the Ward; I look forward to continuing to do that for all of you in the next four years.

To those of you with whom we have spoken who have decided that I am the candidate you will support on Election Day... thank you... please pass your belief in me on to as many people in our Ward as you can. If you want to get some friends together for an informal chat, please contact me... I would be delighted to come out and meet as many of you in that type of forum as I can. And please consider allowing my team to place a sign on your property. Signs make a huge difference...they are only up a short time... the month before the election... they will be removed as soon as humanly possible after the election. They have a powerful impact and go a long way in helping undecided voters make up their minds. Please consider doing this... call me or use the website to get your name on the list!

To those of you who have yet to make up your mind about who you will be voting for in October, please feel free to contact me at any time with your concerns; I would love the opportunity to speak with you. We can chat on the phone or I can meet you at a location that is convenient for you. I know that if you provide me with the opportunity to sit down and chat with you, you will see that I am the candidate who will best represent you in the upcoming years.

Finally, to those of you we have yet to contact, I look forward to doing that in the near future. It is time for a change in Ward 11... I believe I am the person who can make that change a positive, productive experience for our Ward.

Thank you
Ken Chartrand

Campaign Contributions

I want to earn your trust and your support and prove to you as your future Councillor that I am here to listen to your concerns, and be your voice. Therefore I will not accept any donations from corporations or developers during my campaign. We need to start with a positive beginning and I believe this is a step in the right direction. However, I will gratefully accept donations from the residents, as this is the campaign for the people. If you want a new voice on council that will truly stand for you honestly then help me with your support, either with a contribution or your "VOTE". My desire to represent you is deep and I would be humbled to be your voice on council. We are all part of the wonderful communities that make up Ward 11, so let's make a difference together. This is the year of change for Ward 11.

Thank you
